How Can you Help?

TREC offers various ways you and/or your organization can help TREC’s mission:

GOLDEN BLANKET: These funds will go towards Raise the Barn Campaign, Will Work for Feed Sponsorship, Handle with Care Scholarship, and the Work of Heart drive.
RAISE THE BARN: These funds go directly toward the cost of an indoor riding facility.
WILL WORK FOR FEED: This is a sponsorship that will pay for the complete cost of care for one the TREC’s equine staff.
HANDLE WITH CARE:This rider's fund provides money necessary for a rider's participation in TREC lessons for one year.
WORK OF HEART: These funds are used to train and educate TREC volunteers.
TREC-ED: These funds are used to help educate the youth in Pueblo about Disabilities, Leadership and Teamwork.
IN-KIND, IN-MIND: are donated goods and/or services by individuals or businesses.
FILL THE BUCKET: a general donation to TREC for purchasing new equipment for programs and education purposes.

GOLDEN BLANKET:

This is a very generous way to contribute to the Thereapeutic Riding and Education Center. $7,500.00 will be used in each of the following areas: the Raise the Barn Campaign, the Will Work for Feed Sponsorship, the Handle with Care Scholarship, and the Work of Heart drive.

RAISE THE BARN:

TREC is in the planning stage of constructing a 120 x 80 foot indoor facility that can protect our client-riders during class sessions from all types of extreme weather. Participation in this Campaign is $3,500.00 Contributors will gain recognition for their involvement by having a plaque hung on the interior wall of the indoor arena. Estimated costs for this indoor riding arena are currently being researched. A drawing of the final plans and design will be sent to all contributors upon completion of the planning stage. Just as it takes a neighborhood to raise a child, it will take a community to build this barn. Donors will be invited to attend a Barn Dance and Barbeque upon completion of the indoor barn’s construction.

WILL WORK FOR FEED:

When you and/or your organization sponsors a horse for $2,500.00 here is where the funds go:

Three bales of hay per week $ 1,014.00
Three pounds of grain per day $ 312.00
Supplements-one year supply $ 70.00
De-worming-four times a year $ 52.00
Vaccinations-one year supply $ 47.00
Vet care (float teeth) $ 25.00
Trimming and Shoeing-six times per year $ 360.00
Equine Chiropractic Care-four times per year $ 320.00
Equine Massage Therapy-six times per year $ 300.00
Total of Annual Expenses for one member of the horse staff at TREC $ 2,500.00

HANDLE WITH CARE:

This $1,500.00 rider's fund will allow one client-rider to attend TREC class sessions for one year. At TREC, we provide a structure of classes that are designed to teach the skills needed so that a rider will progress from having a full support team to becoming an independent rider with very minimal support. Hence, one of TREC’s goals is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities by becoming independent riders.

WORK OF HEART:

This $500.00donation will aide in the education and training of TREC volunteers. Through the Work of Heart Program, the volunteers will learn how to safely be involved with client-riders and the equine staff so that the client-rider has the best opportunity for a successful lesson.

TREC-ED:

TREc uses the $250.00donated to this program for Outdoor Education, Leadership Workshops, Community Education, Internship and Practicum Opportunities, TREC-TECH,and Continued Education for the Pueblo community and TREC volunteers and employees.

IN-KIND, IN-MIND:

If it is an in-kind donation you have in mind, then this opportunity will fit just fine. This form of donation will enable businesses and individuals to participate by offering goods and services that would be valuable to TREC. Each one of our programs has a need. our bonus system could use:

Treats for our Horses
Gift Certificates for our non-paid staff
Building Materials for improvements
Product Coupons for our riders
Services rendered for the organization
Tack for our horses
Equipment for our facility
Educational Materials for our programming
The list goes on...

FILL THE BUCKET:

Most churches pass the offering plate, well at TREC we pass the BUCKET. The TREC Bucket can be brought to your business or function for a day or more. Proceeds from the bucket will be distributed as needed throughout our programs. TREC is being recognized as a "Top Notch" Therapeutic Riding Program. We are doing this one rider at a time and one contribution at a time
